Verbos irreguares inglés

Hay un montón de verbos irregulares en inglés y no hay otro remedio que empollarlos de memoria. Aun así, existen ciertas conexiones entre ellos, de las que nos podemos aprovechar para aprenderlos.

También encontramos verbos irregulares en otros idiomas, como por ejemplo alemán, español y otros, pero nosotros no nos dedicamos a ellos.

El uso de los verbos irregulares en inglés

Cada verbo (tanto regular como irregular) tiene tres formas básicas, las cuáles son:

  • el infinitivo
  • el pasado
  • el participio

Los verbos regulares forman el pasado y el participio, añadiendo la misma terminación -ed. Al contrario, los verbos irregulares lo forman irregularmente. Entonces es necesario aprenderlos de memoria.

Los mismos y aun así diferentes

Algunos verbos irregulares en ingles la misma forma. Por ejemplo, el verbo read en pasado: read / read / read (leer). Las tres formas se escriben igual. ¡Ojo! La pronunciación de este verbo en el infinitivo es diferente a la pronunciación de este verbo en el pasado y el participio: [ri:d] / [red] / [red].
